Mindful Breastfeeding

suitable from 25 weeks of pregnancy

Do you want to breastfeed your baby? Are you unsure? Perhaps you are just so overwhelmed with all of the information out there that you don't know where to start! Well don't worry because this mindful breastfeeding course will give you an empowered knowledge about preparing and learning to breastfeed and what to expect in the early hours, days and weeks after your baby is born. 

We offer a welcoming, relaxed and completely non-judgemental approach where you are encouraged to really focus on what YOUR breastfeeding/feeding preferences are at the end of the course.

There's more to breastfeeding than you might think and as part of the Mindful Breastfeeding approach, you will also learn and experience some mindfulness techniques to support you in your breastfeeding journey!

 

In this three week course you will explore:

Week 1 - Mind

- Brain, body and hormone changes during pregnancy and post-birth

- The neuroscience of breastfeeding

- The nervous system in action

- Breastfeeding culture and your experiences of breastfeeding (even if you haven't breastfed before/or your first baby)

- The mindset required for breastfeeding success and strategies to re-wire your brain to think positively

 

Week 2 - Body

- How breastfeeding works

- What's normal and what to expect in the first hours, days and weeks

- Establishing your milk supply

- Does latch matter?

 

Week 3 - Connect

- Trusting your body and your baby and following your instincts

- The 4th trimester

- Partner, family and friend support

- Creating your breastfeeding preferences plan

Each sessions ends with a guided relaxation and there will be time to chat and get to know others.​
